Sketchbook AssignmentOur sketchbook assignment was to create a sketch out of a picture we took. I decided to create a sketch from the phone booth because it fit my theme the best. The sketch is about how things like phone booths aren't used anymore, that is why it's is on fire and it says "Not Available"

NO SIGNAL (sustained investigation 1)
This piece is called "NO SIGNAL"because of the colors that show up on an old TV screen when there is no signal. The broken TV with the colors spilling means there is no longer a need for these kinds of TVs, no one uses them anymore.

To the Future (sustained investigation 2)
This piece is called "To the Future." It is mimicking a 70's advertisement. The idea behind this piece is to advertise a flying car because back then people were saying we would have flying cars by now, but that never happened so i expressed the idea on this ad.
Mediums: fine liners, gouache, acrylic and watercolor.
Timeline (sustained investigation 3)
This piece is called "Timeline" because of the different phones use throughout time. All of the phones are connected by wires to show how they evolved throughout time, from an old telegram to the latest phone. I chose to investigate phone timelines because today we always rely on our phones, everywhere you go you see people on there phones, phones are now a part of us. I used ink for this piece because i thought it would give it a more clean and an old look to it. I splattered ink on the piece to give it like an old TV effect because old Tv's were distorted. An interesting thing about this piece is that there are years hidden on each phone to symbolize when the phone was used or when it was first invented.
